We mostly people have a Gmail account as our first email account in our lives. Many of us use it for random purposes, just for signing up on random social networks, but many of us use it for professional purposes, like email conversations between clients, bank accounts, managing premium subscriptions, etc.
By default, we receive all emails in the primary category until enabling the other category types from Inbox setting.
However, Gmail offers to organize emails in a better way through its Labels and Filters features. In this article, we are going to learn how we can organize our related emails through a label using Gmail filters.
Creating a label in Gmail
After logging into your Gmail account, you will get the Labels option at the left sidebar.

There is a Plus (+) sign next to the Labels. Clicking on that will open a popup window to create a label. Enter your label name and click on the Create button.

Once your label is created, it will be added to the left sidebar. You can also change the color of the label by clicking on the 3 dot option that will appear after hovering over the label.

Creating a filter rule
After creating a label, you will need to create a filter rule to organize your related emails. This step will move your previously received emails to be moved to the label and ensure that future emails will also get the label and skip the inbox/other categories.
To do that, search for an email in the following format: *@wpbeginner.com. Adding * before @ means, it will search for all emails associated with the wpbeginner.com domain. Then click on the settings icon, which is located in the same search field.

On the Settings window, add the same email format in the From field and click on the Create filter option.

Then you will be taken to the more settings options, where you will need to take the following steps:
- Check the Skip the Inbox (Archive it) option
- Select the label from the Apply label option
- Check the Also apply filter to X matching conversations option to apply the rules for previous emails

Once done, click on the Create filter button and wait for a few moments to move the emails from the primary/other categories inbox to the assigned label folder.

Try the same method in your Gmail, and let me know in the comment section. All the best!
